CELEBRATING MINISTRIES

Celebrating who we are in Christ Jesus and what we are called to do and be by God’s grace.

WORSHIP
We believe that God has saved us by His grace through faith in Christ Jesus. That’s worth celebrating! We gather to celebrate our God – Father, Son and Spirit each Sunday. Our time of worship together is central to who we are…people who gather around the Word, the Breaking of the Bread, of prayer and fellowship. We do this to receive from the Lord who comes to us in Word and Sacrament; we do this to be built up together as His People; we do this to be equipped to be sent out into the world to serve! Here are some ways we serve in celebration…

ACOLYTES
All youth who are confirmation class age and older are eligible to serve as Acolytes (light candles) and Crucifers (carry the processional cross) for worship.

ALTAR GUILD
Volunteer service on a scheduled basis to maintain and prepare the altar paraments, and prepare for the Lord’s Supper. Clean up following the service and secure storage of the elements and altar cloths are required parts of this important service.

GREETERS
People matter at King of Glory! It is important that those who visit us for the first time are welcomed and cared for. The Greeters do just that…offer a friendly word of welcome to those who come through our doors before worship.

LAY READERS
Volunteer laypersons assist in the worship services on a scheduled basis by preparing in advance for and reading appointed Scriptures.

USHERS
The Ushers are volunteers who serve to enhance our worship gatherings by providing direction and help to people. Participation is scheduled in advance.

COMMUNION ASSISTANTS
Communion Assistants help to serve The Lord’s Supper (Holy Communion) during worship services.  Participation is scheduled in advance. 

AUDIO VISUAL MINISTRY
An important “behind the scenes” ministry is our Audio Visual Team. Volunteers are needed to help monitor the sound system during worship and operate the cameras to record our worship services. If you would like to serve, we’ll train you in what to do!
