THE KING OF GLORY SYMBOL

Altar Cross at KOG The Cross, the most familiar Christian symbol, represents Christ's overwhelming sacrifice and our salvation. We have chosen the Greek form of the cross. All arms are equal, to emphasize that we are all equal recipients of God's boundless love. "May I never boast except in the cross of our Lord Jesus Christ."
(Gal. 6:14 NIV)

The Crown is the universal symbol of kingship. Superimposed upon the cross, the stylized crown reminds us that Jesus, through his death and Resurrection is our heavenly King. The elongated central knob and the placement of the side knobs suggest a head and arms. "But we see Jesus...crowned with glory and honor because he suffered death."
(Heb. 2:9 NIV)

The Lines radiating from the four arms of the cross symbolize Christ's love reading to all corners of the earth. "for God so loved the world that he gave his only begotten Son that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life."
(John 3:16 NIV)
